Mitchell is a native Southern Californian residing in Torrance but likes to come up to his family cabin in Moonridge in the summer, especially to ride his favorite trail, Fall-line. He is an avid skier, a long distance runner, and a very active club baseball player, playing short stop for the Torrance Tritons 10U baseball team. Mitchell started racing in 2011 in the XC Jr Men 10 and under class and had regular podium finishes, winning his first race at Rim Nordic in 2011. He now races XC Jr Men 12/11 and is really enjoying it.
Forrest, at age 10, came up to Big Bear to try mountain bike racing at the Rim Nordic X-country series. Because he was so young, he did the kids race and won by several minutes. They asked him to join the Cat 3 category because he was so fast.
In 2013 he placed 1st in Cat 3 in the series final at Rim Nordic. He now has the racing bug and it is a life journey for him.
He is also racing in the quick and dirty series and is currently in 3rd place in the schoolboy ages 13-15. For his age, now 11, he is doing remarkably well.
Forrest looks forward to the Rim Nordic X-C Series this year and plans on racing all three events. He is excited to race for Bear Valley Bikes and wears his jersey with pride.
