We are a year round bike shop! While we don’t hang around all the time when there is snow on the ground, you can call us and make an appointment and we’ll be here to hang out, service your ride, or whatever you need! Call us on:

  1. Hey Bear Valley Bikes!
My name is James Bosma and I am doing a bike ride from Northern California, Arcata to be exact, to your very own Big Bear to raise money for Big Bears own local YMCA Camp Oakes. The ride will end up being close to 900 miles and I’m looking to get as much support as I can, even some more company for the long journey if you’re interested! Please check out my blog here on wordpress, ridin4raggers, for more info about the ride and how you can help. Thank you for your time and good luck during the colder months!

  2. Guys
We are arriving in Big Bear with our touring bikes direct from a tour of New Zealand. We need to buy some bits so – Do you stock Crank Brothers pedals, Maxxis Tires, Kool Stop brake pads. This is our time to get the bikes ready for a big ride. If you do not stock them – any idea who does there?

When do you arrive? We have the pedals, do you care what type of crank bros? We don’t have those exact tires or brakes but we do have equivilant.

      See you soon!

Do you guys not have regular email? All I see on the site are forms. I wanted to email Derek regarding a bike and cannot find an email anywhere. There are times where a customer may not want to post on a blog. Please advise…

I live in the Bay Area and am heading up to Bear Valley next week for some rest and adventure. Looking for MTB rides, as we are staying right in town. Can you suggest and trails (loops or out and back) that I can do that might be a few hours in duration, great views, etc…Appreciate your help!

Derek mentioned an upcoming mtb ride, the 10,000′ challenge. I’d like to go and bring a couple riding buddies up from San Diego. Only problem, I don’t remember the date.

I am just wondering if you guys sell the used summer bikes rentals at the end of the season? Also what the going price for a hard tail L? My bike got stolen a couple months ago and cant afford to drop 5-700 on a new one. Thanks!

  7. Vinit says:

Do you provide group discounts for large groups? We’ll need bikes for up to 35-40 people.

Just wanted to say thanks for such a great buying experience with you guys. I shopped around and had difficulty getting expert knowledge, or even help at a few places. I was greeted at the door both times I drove up there from redlands and appreciate all of the staff who helped me with my never-ending questions. Thanks again Bear Valley Bikes! You guys Rock!

Hi we are coming in for a weekend trip from Florida on December 7-9. Are your bike rentals seasonal? We would love to ride if there isnt any snow on the ground. Thank you!!

  10. Jonathan says:

If I wanted to rent a bike from you guys would it be a problem if I was under 18?

    • alihyde says:

We need a deposit which is usually a credit card. If you are under 18 you would need either a cash deposit of $500 or you can leave your car with the keys and your drivers licence.
