So Cal’s only lift served Bike Park is now open at Big Bear’s Snow Summit! Opening day was on Saturday, when they began operating the Sky chair and opened up the Miracle Mile Trail, an advanced run for experienced mountain bikers that includes upper level features such as step ups, banked turns, bridges and more. Big Bear Mountain Resorts has teamed up with Gravity Logic, a leader in the mountain bike industry, to design the new mountain bike trails. To accomodate more Down Hill style bikes they have also upped the weight restrictions on the chair lift to 45 lb per bike. There are plans to open up more trails on the west side of the mountain including a Blue trail with intermediate features and eventually a Green trail for beginners that will offer a more gradual and comfortable riding experience. The lift also gives access to the new Skyline trail, which is being built though volunteers in the community and led by the Big Bear Trails Foundation, and several other great trails throughout the San Bernardino National Forest.
We are sure everyone will have a great time riding the new trails. Be sure to stop by our shop before you ride and stock up on everything you need for the day. We have a brand new fleet of the Specialized Status bikes for rent, which come with the custom X-Fusion Vector R shock and 180mm-travel X-Fusion Vengeance fork.
