I arrived at Maggio’s last night and the place was already packed! An abundance of people showed up to the fund raising event in support of the Big Bear Trails Foundation. There was music, Pizza, good company, auctions and a raffle! I’m sure a good night was had by all! Bear Valley Bikes showed our support by donating to the silent auction. The prize included an $80 gift Certificate, BVBikes socks and T-Shirt and a guided ride with Derek Hermon. Derek is looking forward to taking the winner out and showing them some of our legendary Big Bear Trails.
The evening was not only a fundraiser but also a celebration. The US Forest Service recently accepted the Skyline Trail as a proposal, which is the first big step in the process of starting work on the proposed 17 mile multi use trail. The Trail will span from the Dam Keepers House, near the Dam at the west end of the valley will parallel fire access road 2N10 for a majority of the trail, and will end at the east end of the valley at Hatchery Road.
